The Rav was born in 1876 and was the brother of the famous Chevron Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Moshe Mordechai. The Rav was ordained by Rav Yaakov Dovid Willowsky (RYDV”Z) of Slutsk and later Boston , Rav Yechiel Michel Epstein the Baal Aruch ha-Shulchan, Rav Yitzchak Yaakov Reines of Lida and many others. The Rav passed away in Chicago and was presumably buried there.

The Rav a prominent member of the Agudas Harabonim, president of the Board of Orthodox Rabbis of New York, and a delegate to the American Jewish Congress wrote many seforim among them Chazyonos Avroham. Born in Zakroczym, Poland and ordained by Rav Yonah Zlotnick of Plock, Poland he served as a rabbi in his native town before immigrating to America in 1906. Interestingly, Rav Gallant considered the mass immigration to America to be a temporary sojourn and he anticipated that Jews would eventually return to Eastern Europe. Many of his sermons criticize Reform Judaism and deviations by immigrants from Orthodoxy.
