In researching another family I found a marriage certificate from NYC dated November 10, 1912. It is signed "Rabbi Samuel Rabinowitz, 60 Canal St." The interesting thing is that the bride was Rebecca Sachs, daughter of Malke Feldberg (sometimes Feldman), whose father was Shmuel, son of Shalom, son of HaGaon Shmuel, son of Reb Avrohom Ragoler... so, Rebecca Sachs was a cousin to Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz. Rebecca's father Rabbi Yude (Julius) Sachs is also at this site. The above posting was quite helpful in explaining why Rabbi Rabinowitz performed the ceremony.

He was a son Rav Meir Michel Rabinowitz of Shatt, and later in Vilna, author of "Hameir Laolam". Reb Shmuel originally printed the sefer in 1903.

Reb Meir Michel's father Reb Shalom, was a son of Reb Shmuel "Hakatan", a son Reb Avrohom Ragoler, brother of the Vilna Gaon.
Reb Shmuel Rabinowitz studied in Volozhin Yeshiva. In 1907 he settled in the USA. He was a Rabbi in Bay City, Michigan; Kavner Shul, New York; and finally Cong. Shaarey Tefiloh in Perth Amboy, N.J. where he served till his passing.

He has many descendants in America.
