Generally it would maybe be nice to get the english last names (How their spelled in english)(exact) so that we could do research and find descendants etc.

Rav Mordechai (ben Tzvi) Grodzenski lived in Utica.
This is part of a Kol Kora signed by the RJJ and many other Rabbanim.

To Ben Bee Zee-

Do you know who has the ksovim that were found? I am working on publishing R Tzvi Hirsch's writings and would like to contact them. He apparently has no descendants who are observant or interested in his ksovim.

BZR,
Your "kop arbiet baruch hashem", thanks for all your informative posts.

If you are saying that the UON published the article they should still have it on record, maybe someone can turn to them for it.

I once saw a long biography (around 15 pages) about Rav Tzvi Grodzensky (I think from the University of Nebraska). He had arichus yomimas he arrived in Omaha in the 1890"s and was first nifter in1948. I remember that they interviewed a son of his (his english name was Francis) and a shochet who had kabolla from rav tzvi hirsh zatzal.the article was written in the 1980"s and his son was still living who also has arichus yomim. It also said that he has many ksovim in Yerushalayim by oyzar haposkim which are waiting to be published. i also heard from a talmid of rav ahron soloveichik zatzal that rav ahron very much recomended his sefer mikve yisroel on hilchos mikvaos. at the end of his mikroei kodesh he has a special kuntress on the problem of making sure that unsalted meat should be washed within 3 days if it was not salted yet (takonas hageonim mentined in the beginning of hilchos melicha) which was a critical issue in the early part of the 1900"s when many times shechita took place in faraway places and sent to the main cities by freight trains and the meat was washed at certain train stops withvarious rabbonim supervising. he also wrotea sefer mili dibrochos on masechta brochos and another on ein yaakov . i think that some of his seforim were published by Ezras Torah as he was a prominent member of the agudas horabonim. zechuso yogen oleinu
