<description>Thanks Asher for kindness I really appreciate it, at the moment I have nothing urgent that you should need to scan and email, but I lay away your offer.

What were the dates of existense of the TagBlatt, and what are the other details behind it?

You can always email me millerscranton-at-gmail.com

Thanks again

<description>Rav Yoseph Zelig z&#039;&#039;l was from Subalk. The 1st few years here in America he served as Rav in the Subalker Shul, NY (considered best litvishe shul of that time). After a short while he left his rabbonis and went into business becoming somewhat wealthy and was involved in all jewish charities and institutions.

He was a member of the Eldridge Street Synagogue since it&#039;s founding and was the oldest Rav at the time of his passing.

<description>From what I found, this Rabbi was here in the US at least as early as 1885.

The tumbstone is really interesting, both, the Hebrew writings which represents his Geonos and the English paragraph which details his age to the days....

I do find that in Subbolk, Poland, there was an author Rabbi Mordechai Zvi Ben Reb Yosef Zelig Halevi Weissman (Divrie Chachamim, Warsaw 1876, see link below) which is quite obviuos that he was related but I am still not sure exactly how.

I also found in Providence RI listed in year 1896 &quot;Reb Shabsi Ben Harav Yosef Zelig Halevi Weissman&quot; which is probably a son of him.

The truth is that the &quot;Halevi Weissman&quot; family dates back the Rav Yitchok Eizik Halevi Weissman of Magenza-Metz, Germany who was niftar 1804
