Interesting that the Gas Chambers are mentioned in the news headed “Nazis massacre jewish population” on the previous link as early as May 21 1943.

Rabbi Boruch Jaffe was my great-grandfather. It was neat to find this page with the links that others have posted with his obituary. In addition to the children that survived him, his eldest son, Idel, preceded him in death in 1934. He was unable to enter the US with the rest of the family due to an eye infection. He ended up living in France and joining the underground. Rabbi Boruch’s wife, Esther, passed away in 1960. I’m a decedent of Albert’s family who lived primarily in Niagara Falls, NY.

I notice on the stone writing that he was born and raised in Jerusalem, Celia, do you have more information on his roots?

Rabbi Boruch Jaffee was my great-grandfather, (father of my grandmother Lilly (Leah). I have a copy of his writings which my Father z”l had intended to publish. I an named after his wife Esther Segel Jaffe from Tzfat.
