    Running out of Rabbanim?????

Fester Guy – your comment seems completely inappropriate. There is no reason not to list Rebetzins and in fact, many good reasons to do so.

Rachel Eminu in Eretz Yisrael as well as Sarah Eminu , R. Sarah wife of Rabbi Akiva, R. Menucha Rochel in Hebron etc.
Nothing new, these blessed souls always pray for the Yidden and to help all who need intervention & all kinds of help.

    should list all the rebetzins

Just a suggestion, you might want to list the index names under the last names rather than the first as many people know the last name of a person they are looking for but not the first especially if they had more than one first name.

However there is also a search option which you can use to search by entering the family/last name.

Looking for a minyan Erev Yom Kippur at the Tzelem chelkah in Wellwood Cemetery (South Avenue, Section 32 to the right of the Tzelemer ohel). The Rebbitzen, whose yurzeit is Erev Yom Kippur, was known for her successful blessings of children to childless couples.

My wife being a descendant of R’ Shloime Tzvi Strasser, would like to go to the Kever of the Rebbitzen Strasser.

We understand that she is in the Debrecen Cemetery.

Could you confirm this and advise:
    1. The location of the Kever.
    2. Arrangements to get access.

    Thank you.

    Mr. Hoffman,

Here is the information on the Debrecen Cemetery:
Cemetery address: Monostorpalyi u. 10 in downtown Debrecen (Pasti utca).
Caretaker lives next to the still-active cemetery with several thousand tombstones.

For visits, contact the Jewish Community (Zsido Hitkozseg) in Debrecen, Bajcsy-Zsilinszki E. u. 26. Phone: 315-861.

Asher – thank you so much!
Is the link to Henia up?
Why is she not next to the Rav?

U’r most welcome! The link is visible on my comp. Regarding not being buried right next to her husband… Well, most of what I’ve seen, is, were the Rebbetzins weren’t always right next to each other.

Sorry – not so computer savvy – what does it mean link is on my comp?
Any help you can suggest with comments written July 29 2011 would be so appreciated
    We are stuck!

Joshua, I though, u aren’t able to see the link I posted above — see comment #12 – are u able to see it?
When posting links, they need to be checked + approved by the admin — it doesn’t publish immediately, unlike ‘just text’ comments, which do publish upon submission.

Thanks – I didn’t realize it was in the photobucket
The marker is next to Faige Mirel – the smaller stone
Any advice for us in terms of Hager connection?

My father, David Stein (Dave) Y’Z”B, had written an article about The Lower East Side, about 5+ decades ago! & I’m trying to update that very article.
If there is any accesessabilty to any Gedolim that had ties to the Lower East Side, from around the 30’s to present, past & present, I’d appreciate any info available
I’m in touch with the Feinstein Grandchildren, who have helped me with minor tidbits, but I am seeking any Lower East Side facts.

If you are looking for 1930s to present then you might want to examine the lives of the following personalities who lived in the Lower East Side for many years:
Rav Yaakov Dov Safsal (Visker Iluy) זצ”ל
    Rav Efraim Oshry זצ”ל
    Rav Nisson Alpert זצ”ל
You can probably find many people who have personal recollections of them.
