Bio Information:
Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Stampfer (1899-1962) served as the rabbi of Memphis’ Baron Hirsch Congregation from 1927-1930. Seventeen years later, he returned to Memphis to serve as the rabbi of Congregation Anshei Sphard for several years beginning in 1947. His wife Nehama (1900-1937) who was tragically killed in a car accident was the daughter of Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He passed away in Los Angeles and was interred at the Gomel Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery, Petach Tikvah, Israel.
