Bio Information:
The Rav was born in 1876 and was the brother of the famous Chevron Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Moshe Mordechai. The Rav was ordained by Rav Yaakov Dovid Willowsky (RYDV”Z) of Slutsk and later Boston, Rav Yechiel Michel Epstein the Baal Aruch ha-Shulchan, Rav Yitzchak Yaakov Reines of Lida, and many others. The Rav passed away in Chicago where he was interred.

נולד בשנת תרל”ו בבאקשט שע”י וואלאזין, לאביו הג”ר צבי חיים זצ”ל שייסד ישיבה שם והרביץ תורה לתלמידים. למד בסלבודקה אצל הג”ר איצל’ה רבינוביץ זצ”ל (שהיה אח”כ בפוניבז’ ועל שמה נתפרסם) ואצל הג”ר איצל’ה בלזר זצ”ל. בתר”ס נתמנה לממלא מקום אביו בבאקשט שנפטר אז, בתרס”ב התחתן, ובתרע”ט עבר לארה”ב ונתקבל לרב בקהילת “זכרו תורת משה” בניו יארק, ואח”כ בקהילת “ר’ ישראל סלנטר-אנשי זאמוט”, ובתרפ”א לקהילת “אנשי כנסת ישראל” בשיקגו. היה סגן נשיא אגודת הרבנים. היה ממייסדי ישיבת בית מדרש לתורה בשיקגו, ומסר בה שיעורים. ביסוד “ועד ההצלה” נתמנה לגזברה, ובתש”ח וט’ עמד בראש משלחות לאירופה וא”י לעזור לפליטים ולמוסדות התורה.
The Rav’s son was among the Chevron Yeshiva student brutally murdered during the infamous Hebron massacre of 1929.

I think he had another son R’ Tzvi chaim who was also a Rav somewhere (maybe in Chicago?).

According to an obituary in the Chicago Tribune on Jul 16 1960, he had three sons one of them was a judge in Chicago.
Another son of his was Rabbi Chaim Tzvi (Harry H.) Epstien, who was apoointed in 1931 as Rav in Cong. B’Nai Emuna in Tulsa, Oklahoma , one year later he went to Cong. Ahavas Achim in Atlanta.

The money R”Epstein used to send to Chevron Yeshiva in the 30’s and 40’s single handedly supported the yeshiva!
