RABBI SOLED WAS A RAV IN BENSONHURST/MAPLETON FOR MANY YEARS ON WEST 9TH BETWEEN AVE O AND BAY PARKWAY.HIS SON JAY SOLED LIVES IN PASSAIC NJ
Rabbi Soled zt”l can be seen sitting 4th from the right (near the rabbi with the beard) in the following photo that was taken in 1941 not long after he arrived in the USA from Europe via Shanghai: https://goo.gl/photos/aipPGXoNwdqPuaaS8.
I’m pretty sure that this was from an installation ceremony at Ahavas Achim in Brownsville (Riverdale Ave. in Brooklyn) when he became their rav.
According to my father z”l, the rabbi sitting 7th from the right was his uncle, Rabbi Mitchel Eskolsky zt”l.
Does anyone recognize anyone else in the photo?

That shows a news clip from page 14 of the Morgen Journal of June 29, 1941 which is a report on the same event and identifies the nine rabbanim sitting at the dais and has a cropped version of the same picture.
From right to left it lists (with my own notes in parentheses):
– Rabbi Kumin (R. Yerachmiel Kumin who had been a secretary for the Chofetz Chaim in Radin and was on the hanhalla of the Radin yeshiva of NYC)
– Rabbi “Pupkin” (a mistake – as seen later in the article this was Rabbi Poupko – R. Chaim Yitzchak Poupko of Toras Chaim/South Shore)
– Rabbi Londinsky (R. Mordechai Londinsky of Radin-NYC whose father was a ra”m in Radin in Europe)
– Rabbi Moshe Solodovnik
– Rabbi Mendel Zaks
– “הרב ×•×•×™× ×¡×§×¢” (Rav Vinskeh??? more on this below)
– Rabbi Mitchel Eskolsky (my great-uncle – Rav of the Bialystoker shul in the Lower East Side)
– Rabbi Aharon HaLevi Gottesman (Jersey City)
– Rabbi Bayarsky (Baltimore)
The article also mentions that Rabbi Yoshor and Rabbi Shmidman were in attendance.
A son of Rabbi Shmuel Shmidman (of Canarsie) believes that the ×•×•×™× ×¡×§×¢ mentioned above is really mistaken and it should really be the Rabbi (Shmuel) Shmidman mentioned later in the article.
