Rabbi Shimon Yisroel Posen was born in 1894 in Frankfurt am Main, where his father R’ Gershon served as Dayan. I know so, R’ Shimon Yisroel was a Talmid of R’ Yoel Fellner in Beled, Hungary. In the 1910s, he went to Munkacs, where became a strongly anti-Zionist follower of the Munkacs Rebbe Minchos Eluzer.
In 1932 elected to Rav in Sopron, Hungary. In 1945, he liberated in Budapest, then lived in Soltvadkert, and from 1946 was head of the Huvosvolgy Yeshiva in Budapest. Served as Rav in Papa from Summer 1947, until left Hungary August 1948.
In the US, he was the Satmar Rosh-Yeshiva, I know so.
Didn’t he author a sefer? Toiras Alef, if I’m not mistaken?
