Didn’t David Weider snap this photo. It seems that the picture was taken summer time. Also this cemetery needs some grooming, it reminds me a drop of Bayside. (BTW, there’s been great progress in Bayside, to me, i looks like a new cemetery – let’s hope it gets completely cleaned up)
please check with David Weider ehich cemetery it is
He visited many cemeteries that day (over 10) and doesn’t recall the location.
Thank you,
Ten cemeteries in one day? Woe, that’s a load. Whatta shame he can’t recall. Baruch, you have this listed under Connecticut/mystery- is the location also not clear or just the cemetery?
There are new digital cameras that automatically embeds GPS coordinates with captured images.
Asher:
Sorry it was in NJ, he doesn’t recall which pick was taken at which cemetery.
OK, we are not doomed yet. Is this image cropped, if not, I hope we find out thru Wickner, whois buried behind the Rav. Do you have the full name of Wickner?
2.
Can he tell us all the cemeteries he visited that day, it doesn’t take long to call up these places and ask them if such and such person is interred in their thingie.
3.
another way is to compare this picture with other ones (that are overgrown with ivy) he gave you of that day.
in the future, anyone taking photos, should also take a pic of the society entrance.
I will email you the full picture tomorrow, I believe the name of the cemetery is Mount Zion (in NJ).
wow, I am looking for my husbands family tree. His great grandfather comes from a very big family of Rabbis. last name Heimlich, I think they are cousins. if so, please check cemetary at Staten-Island where Rabbi Dan Heimlich is buried alongside his wife Lillian Heimlich. He was a big rav too, in Hungary and in New Jersey! Buried in Staten Island, Barun Hirsch cemetary. Worth it to check out. The cemetary is fill of ivy.. Hard to find tombstones since some of the have bushes growing on them! Few years ago, several teens from New Jersey took it upon themselves to clean up (story made it to the local newspaper) and I am sure it is bad again. I would love to know if you found anything. Sorry for any spelling mistakes hope this is helpful. Dalia
Sorry made a mistake, Dan Heimlich’s wife name was Molly. Still i am quite sure your picture is from Staten island
What about this one?
Dalia, I am also Heimlich from Hungary. Can you contact me via e-mail?
