Bio Information:
Rav Shmuel Alter authored Lekita Basar Lekita (20 volumes) worker tirelessly for the Jews in Cuba as well as spreading Torah throughout the United States. At the time of his passing, he was the Moreh Dasrah at Congregation Machzikei Hadas D’Chassidei Sadigora in Brooklyn. Sadly he left no children.

R Alter was married for a time to my wife’s great-grandmother, previous to that she was married for a time to R Leibele Twersky, in Chicago.
We think that R Alter and my wife’s great-grandmother might have first met in Cuba.
We would love to know of any more details.

IIt bothers me that in the announcement for his Levaya it says he wrote ”
5 chalakim on Chumash”. I hate when people fill in information from assumptions. He wrote 20 chalakim including on Medrash and agadda and pirkei avos! In one volume he dedicates to his second wife and records what he said at the Sheva Brachos…
