He is the father-in-law of the Novominsker Rebbe shlita, and of Harav Moshe Meiselman shlita. His son is the present Ziditchoiver Rebbe of Chicago.
He was niftar 22 Tammuz of 5727, 1967. He was an unbelievably holy man, ish yoshor and onov meod. My family davened in his shul from January 1950 until 1980. Rav Chaim Pinter shlita of London is also a son-in-law.
I remember him very well . I was very close to him in my childhood and to our great sorrow he was niftar when I was only a child. This is the first time I see a picture of his matzeiva and I am stunned. In his great holiness he was a very modest person and you see it on his matzeiva which is so plain.
May I add that not long ago his daughter Miriam told me that my Mother A”H was her mother’s the illustrious Rebbitzen Babche Tlit”a best friend. That is how close we were. His mother the Alte Rebbitzen bought me a sterling silver chanuka menorah for my bar mitzvah.

The letter which YD Miller was kind enough to post was written by J.D. Eisenstein and not Rav Eichenstein.
