His wife סילקא בת יהושע is burried in Lansing Avenue cemtery in Clevelan Ohio, passed away on ה’ תמוז תרצ”ט.

ר’ מנחם מענדל ב”ר יוסף שלמה עקשטיין ז”ל, נולד בסילאדי טראנסעלוואניע, נשא אשה בסיגעט חבב חכמה מדע וספרים והי’ עשיר גדול מלחמת העולם הראשונה, אחר מלחמת העולם הראשונה נתדלדל ועקר מושבו והביא את הביבליאטעק שלו לניו יארק, הי’ רב בבית המדרש עץ חיים אנשי אונגארן בניו יארק ואח”כ בבית המדרש בית יעקב קליוולאנד אהייאו, נפטר י’ ניסן תש”ו בניו יארק, לא נודע לנו אי’ מקום מנוחתו.

In 1944 he remarried (after his first wife mentioned above passed awayin 1939) to Mrs. Necha (Natalie) Cheniger, daughter of Reb Alter Yosef of Lieptzieg, who at the time still lived in NY.
