Rabbi Halperin’s father Reb Moshe Halperin was the Rav in Sloboda (in the Suvolk area), and he (the son) was the grandson (perhaps his mother’s father) of Reb Dovid Krauser of Merch, who was an uncle for RMZ Margolies of NY, so the two were somehow related.
Reb Shmuel Binyamin was Rabbi in Roxbury, Mass. untill his death.

In the above link it is moentioned that Rabbi Halperin was the Brother-in-law of Rabbi Sholom Tzvi Schneiderman who was the Rav in Cong. Dorshe Sholom in Philadelphia, PA. a Talmud of the Maharsha”b of Lubavitch and ran a Yeshive Tomche Temimim in Philadelphia.
While Rav Schniederman I know was the SIL of Reb Zalmen Meller, I don’t know how exactly the two were BIL’s either was Rabbi Halperin the SIL of Ren Mier Schnderman or Reb Zalmen Meller.
Reb Zalmen Meller was my mother’s maternal grandfather. My mother was Sarah Klatzkin. Rabbi Halperin was married to Dinah Meller, my mother’s aunt and they had, if my info is correct, 7 children. I have the names of the children and in some cases their spouses. Therefore Rabbi Halperin was the SIL of Zalmen Meller.

I have been investigating this same family because they were also relatives of Rabbi David M Shohet of Yonkers. The Shohets are also related to Rabbi Margolies and are direct descendants of Rabbi David of Meretz. I have seen many records for Rabbi Halperin although not everything matches with that above. Do you know who his mother was?
