Rav Kantrowitz was a book seller in the East Side and was fundraising for the Volozhiner Yeshiva. He very much fought to give the Rav Hakolel position to the Mitover Rav http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=6655&st=&pgnum=253&hilite=
There’s a letter addressed to him from Rav Yitzchok Elchonon regarding collecting pushkes, it seems like he was collecting pushkes for Voloshin and RYE wrote to him that only for the sake of Aniye Eretz Yisroel is allowed. http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=31002&st=&pgnum=5&hilite=
There’s a Siddur with English translation which he printed http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=43103&st=&pgnum=1

Signed a letter to defend Rabbi Nathan Netkin (also on this site) who was a Shada”r from Israel to raise funds:
