Rav Schecter was closely involved with the Yeshiva Ner Yisroel of Baltimor since the 1940’s and served as a Rabbi in Norfolk, VA and New Orleans, LA.

This is the kever of Rabbi Joseph “Joe” Schechter a longtime Baltimore Rav, as well as a member of the Administration of Ner Israel Rabbinical College. As the matzeiva says, he was the founder of the “Siyum Hatorah” in Baltimore, and was loved by all.
As a rav in Baltimore, he stayed behind in the old neighborhood, so the people that couldn’t afford to move would have a rav and leadership in the area.
