    Baruch,
He is not the only grandson, Rebbe Benzion Yehuda Leib Twerski of Chicago was the son of Rebbe Motele of Hornsteipel who was the SIL of the Sanzer Rav.

The fact that is says ‘…grandson (ben achar ben) of the Sanzer ‘ makes your correction unnecessary, since Rabbi Chaim Zatzal is in fact correctly stated as the only grandson of the “direct Paternal line of the Divrei Chaim Zatzal,” to be buried in the States.

    Chaim,

You are right, the (Ben acher Ben) was added after my correction.

Are you a descendant of this Reb Chaim or in any other way from the Divrei Chaim Z”L?

I am a great grandson (son after son) of R’ Chaim. I was four years young when he passed in 1956 and have only vague memories of him. I’ve been told many times that he was charasmatic and warm. The father of my dad, Mendel, R’ David was a son of R’ Chaim. He perished in the Holocaust. My dad died in 1987 and he’s buried right next to R’Chaim at Wellwood.

My Zeida, Z’l and uncle were very close to Rebbe Chaim, Z”L, and his wife the Rebbetzin MIREL, Z”L after the Holocaust. I have many letters from the Rebbetzin,Z”L. When we visited her in Boro Park, she called us “her children”. My Zeida,z’l supported her even after the Rebbe was nifter. Where is the Rebbetzin buried? Contact me, if you are a descendent, or with info. kjef1@erols.com

Allow me to correct the caption in one of the above photos—

R’Yeshaye was shot in the Bochnia ghetto in September, 1943. His brother, Reb Sholim Leizer, lived in Hungary and was murdered in 1944.

No, while I’m not a direct descendant of this R’Chaim, I was partially named after him (and my fathers brother z’l.)
He was my great uncle, my Paternal grandfathers older brother and my father was raised by him after the War, together with his brother and cousin Mendele, that was mentioned earlier by my cousin David in a reply.

Sorry for the delayed response. Rebetzin Mirel Halberstam is also buried on Long Island, not far from her husband, Reb Chaim. Her grave is adjacent to her two sisters, Sarah, the Yavriver Rebetzin and Chana Mindel, the Gorlitzer Rebetzin
