The right pernounceation of the town is “Lapush”.
His father Reb Moshe Dovid was the son of Reb Yaakov Yokel Tietelbaum of Volove, son of Reb Schmuel of Gorlitz son of Reb Eluzer Nissan of Drohbitch son of the Yismach Moshe founder of the Uhel-Siget-Satmer Dynasty.
Reb Yokel was the SIL of his Uncle Reb Yekusiel Yehuday TB of Siget known as the Yetev Lev.

Reb Moshe Dovid was one of the oldest grandchildren of the Yetev Lev and therefore was asked by him to work on printing the Seforim of the Yismach Moshe, which he fullfilled and printed some of the seforim including the famous Tehillim Tefiloh LeMoshe.

This Lapusher Rebbe reb Yekusiel Yehuda (Zalmen Leib) came here to the US pre WWII, his son Reb Altor Ahron HY”D perished in Auschwitz, but RAA’s Son was saved and came to the US named Reb Yaakov Yokel Teitelbaum, he succeeded his Grandfather as the Lapusher Rebbe, he passed away a few years ago and is buried in KJ, Monroe NY.

The town in Magyar-Lapos in Hungarian, and Tirgu Lapus in Romanian.
The Rebbe’s mother Chaye Halberstam, was a daughter of R’ Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Dukla.
The Rebbe’s father R’ Moshe Dovid of Lapos, had two brothers (R’ Naftali Teitelbaum of Nyirbator and R’ Ahron Teitelbaum of Nyirbator), and a sister, Rosa Blime Teitelbaum, who married R’ Rafael Gross, who became Rav in Berbesht, when his father-in-law R’ Yisroel Yakov Yokel Teitelbaum left Berbesht and settled in Volove.
R’ Rafael Gross’s son R’ Ahron Gross married a daughter of R’ Moshe Dovid Teitelbaum, and was the Rav in Lapos, from abt. 1935 till 1944.
