He came to American is 1923 after WWI, and left his family in Prague until he could bring them over in 1927. They moved to the lower east side, and then in 1940 or so to the Bronx on 1582 Jesup Ave. My Bubbie a’h, was Miriam Yolles Moskowitz, daughter of the Stryjer Rov., Rav Sholom HaKohen Yolles, son of the Rebbe of Sambor, Reb Uri.
Zeide and Bubbie has six children who survived childhood, and two who passed in the plague in 1918. Zeide’s writings are in the sefer Ner Yisroel, published in Israel after his petirah.
Rav. Gotlieb a’h was married to Bubbie’s older sister.
I knew one child, Rav. Isaac Gottlieb, who was a musmach in MTJ from gadol hador R. Moshe Feinstein zt’l. So my father Moses Moskowitz (oldest son of R. Yisroel Elimelech and his kallah, Miriam Yolles Moskowitz) was the nephew of R. Gotlieb.
