Directions to Kever: Cemetery is located between South Orange Avenue in Newark and 14th Avenue in Irvington between South 19th and Grove Streets. Although in a constant state of cleanup, the Union Field Cemetery is in extreme disarray and can be dangerous, use caution when visiting!!! In addition to the actual cemetery the surrounding areas have long past their prime, visiting as a group or waiting until Annual Newark Cemetery Visiting Day in September is strongly recommended. Should an Emergency arise call 911.

R. Dover b. Mordecai Heilpern (1858- 1921), rabbi of Cong. Ansche Sefard Linat HaZedek, Newark, New Jersey. R. Heilpern was born in Nesvizh is a town in Minsk Region, Belarus, and ordained by R. Y.L. Perlman, known as the Great one of Minsk and R. Joshua Rabinowitz of Nesvizh in 1887. He came to America in 1887 and was appointed rabbi of Chevra Mishnei’ot of New York followed by other appointments over the next 30 years. R. Heilpern was a member of the Agudat HaRabbonim and active in community affairs. He was a regular contributor to the Torah journal HaMasif.
