My maternal great grandfather was Gershon Eliezer Elefant from Kisvarda Hungary. He had to have been related to this R. Elefant. Can someone perhaps help me piece together the relationship?
The caption reads that Rabbi Gilbert Albert Elefant was the first Rabbi of Ohav Shalom.

it is written that there was an earlier Rabbi;
The first Rabbi was reportedly Rabbi Levin.
Rabbi (REV) Joseph Levine was my Great Grandfather. After learning in Volozhin, he ended up in the U.S. and then Canada – as a Rav in many different Kehillos over the years. I remember the stories I heard from my Grandfather about growing up in Donora.
