His father was very famous in Russia – the “Minchas Shabbos”. I think R’ Meir was the youngest son.
His son R’ Chaim Zalman Cohen lives in Lawrence, NY, and authored a sefer on Brachos and Sukkah – “Maadanei Chaim”.
הוא נין נכד להרבה רבנים וגדולים, אך היחוס לשארית יוסף, הוא בן אחר בן.
יחוסו מפורט בשער של ספרי אביו.

A notice of his petirah in HaPardes: http://www.hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=12400&st=&pgnum=31&hilite=.
הוא צאצא להרבה רבנים וגדולים, אומנם יחוסו לבעל השארית יוסף, הוא בן אחר בן.
בראש ספר ‘מנחת שבת’ ושאר ספריו, יש רשימת יוחסין באורך.

Rav Meyer Cohen (zt’l) was my grandfather. He published two seforim: Chelkas Meir (2 vols.), on the Rambam, hilchos maachalos asuros. His father, Rav Shmuel Cohen, was the author of Minchas Shabbos (hilchos Shabbos), Minchas Yom Tov (hilchos Yom Tov), Maadani Shmuel (hilchos Pesach) Shaarei Eden (hilchos Netilas Yadayim).
He was survived by his four children:
(1) Rabbi Samuel Cohen (a’h)(former executive VP JNF);
(2) Rabbi Jacob Simcha Cohen (zt’l) author: (a) ‘The 613th Commandment’ (re Mitzvah of writing a Sefer Torrah), (b)’Inermarraige & Conversion’ (hilchos geirus), (c) ‘The Jewish Heart’ (Essays on Jewish Sensitivities), (d) ‘Timely Jewish Questions: Timeless Jewish Answers’, (e-f) ‘How Does Jewish Law Work’ (2 vols.), (g) ‘Shabbat the Right Way’, (h) ‘Jewish Prayer the Right Way’.
(3) Rav Chaim Zalman Cohen (shlita), author: Maadani Chaim Masechtot Brachot, Megillah.
(4) Nechama Yoselovsky (a’h).
Please note that my father זצ”ל was niftar on ח’ מר-חשון NOT on ה’ מר-חשון, as noted above in the bio.
