    Winthrop is a suburb of Boston (they are both in Suffolk County) and had a large summer crowd. It was similar to the Catskills back in the day with all the kosher hotels. It could very well be that the Rabbi Luria was only a “summer rabbi” in Winthrop but lived elsewhere during the rest of the year.
