Among the different cemeteries are, Ahavas Achim, Lubovitch, Congregation B'nai Shalom, Temple Beth Tzedek, Mount Carmel Lodge and Ahavas Shalom Jefferson Shul Cemetery just to name a few. Rabbi Markel’s wife Rose was my great-grandfather’s sister. Can anyone help translate that bio of the rabbi in Hebrew posted above?
As far as I know, he lived in either Grajewo or Szczuczyn, Poland until around 1921. There had been a big exodus of the family around the turn of the century and then another one after WWI.
honored mr marx, rabbi markel ob”m prior to joining the rabbinate was involved in buisness only after struggling took a position as a rov,which brought him to america.he studied in the wonderful yeshivos of poland. i have read his writings and they are top notch. his itroduction shows a little humor as well. you have muchto be proud of to have this greatsage in your family history. you should study a mishna each day in his memory!
