Mazal Tov!!!!!
While waiting for a bus to go to the Mikvah Erev Yom Tov, he was run over by a hit & run driver & was killed on the spot, HY”D.
Before moving to Mexico he lived several years in Kansas City, MS and he used to host all the משולחים that came there. Also when Rabbi Yaffe had a Yeshiva in Kansas City, Rabbi Shatz used to learn with the bochurim. In fact he took as a son in law one of the best bochurim of the yeshiva Reb Yosef Dinkels O”H.
Rabbi Shatz has a son living in Boro Park, R’ Nachman Shatz, and R’ Nachman has a son living in Yerushalayim named after the grandfather who is one of the biggerst dayanim in Ger today.
How was he a descendant of Kuzmir?
He had another son R’ Binyamin Schatz who lived in Mexico, the aforementioned R’ Nachmen got engaged after his father’s passing, in 1960, here is a Mazel tov wishes upon his engagement.
