Before moving to Mexico he lived several years in Kansas City, MS and he used to host all the משולחים that came there. Also when Rabbi Yaffe had a Yeshiva in Kansas City, Rabbi Shatz used to learn with the bochurim. In fact he took as a son in law one of the best bochurim of the yeshiva Reb Yosef Dinkels O”H.

Rabbi Shatz has a son living in Boro Park, R’ Nachman Shatz, and R’ Nachman has a son living in Yerushalayim named after the grandfather who is one of the biggerst dayanim in Ger today.

Rabbi Shatz’s Ohel is a מקום תפילה. I remember when I was growing up, anyone that was in an עת צרה went to his ohel to be mispalel.
