thank you for the insert – I would like to hear from any of my fathers TALMIDIM – as they know I was away in WWII and then in JERUSALEM fighting with IZL and then setting up hilltop settlements etc.
the MATZEIVA was written by HARAV MOSHE FEINSTEIN -his ROSH YESHIVA at Mesifta Tiferet Jerusalem – where he taught for a quarter of a century
I had ” SEDER HADOROT” enscibed at the bottom base stone. My father z’l’ claimed descent from the author – the Baal Seder Hadorot ( r’ Yechiel Helperin ) It does not show on the photo above
Moshe, where did your father come from? When did he come to America?
CURIOS ::: my father was born in JERUSALEM / grew up in JAFFA / studied under Harav KOOK / his parents came from STAROBYN in White Russia / he & my mother (F reide Dobe Robinzon) were newlyweds at start of WW I and among the 12,000 Jews expelled by Turks & spent the war years as PALESTINIAN REFUGEES in Alexandria Egypt / returned to Jerusalem / came to USA in 1921
Thanks, Moshe!
Cousin Moey, I am honored that my middle name Aryeh was named after his middle name Leib.
