As per the writings from his BIL Rav Kessler Rabbi in the Rockaways on LI, Reb Yaakov was an Askan more the a Rav.

Rav Kessler was the SIL of Reb Wolf Torbowitz father of Reb Yaakov, he immigrated to the States pre-war, and was niftar 1955, anyone with his burial information?

Rav Wolf Torbowitz was my grandmother’s grandfather. I have other books of his in my possession including handwritten manuscripts. The Rav was a prodigious writer on halachah and kabbalah.
I might have a phot of him in a sefer that I have back in New York but I will not be back there until the spring. I also have a family tree with all the names of the rabbinim but this will have to wait until then as well.
