very intresting , that there is a picture ,
( i think is the second mazeive on this web site with a picture )
Shloime, kindly check my photobucket folder for add’l shots (s949.photobucket.com/albums/ad339/aman51/Snowy%20Cemetery/). Due to the 1-2 foot of snow, I couldn’t get too close. His wife is buried right next to him (she too has a picture on her marker). I chanced upon this marker Sunday on my way to re-shoot Harav Wein’s thingie.
He was Rav in Brownsville and authored many seforim and was editor of many publications. I believe Miller will be able to furnish us with more detail about him (YD, I saw your post on iVelt – interesting)
He wrote a short biography in his sefer המעשה והמדרש available on hebrewbooks.org/2331.
Moshe Escott posted a link by Harav Menashe Margolis z”l of a newspaper clipping where you can see Rav Margolin, though not clear .
He also mentions Rav Yudelovitch and Harav Vidrewitz helping or supporting him upon his arrival to America.
Asher,
I am not sure to which post you are areffering to on iVelt (perhaps this one:
http://66.199.166.105/forum/viewtopic.php?p=377664&sid=959ebce534d0759d660f50152af76c3d#p377664 )
Thanks so much for this photo, Rabbi Margolin as you can see on his marker was a great prolific writer, he authored and edited many Seforim and Torah Journals.
Served as Rav in Syracuse NY and later he was the Moreh D’Asra of Anshie Chesed in Brownsville.
Are there any children buried around him and his wife?
YD, I’m referring to the article about him suing the Agudas HaRabanim (I believe) for $75,000 since he membership was revoked as he gave a Hechsher on a Meat manufacturing plant that also produced Treif (did I read correctly – i hope so).
In regards to family members, not from I saw on a quick glance – I’m not sure which society he’s buried in – but you can see (from my other pictures), that it’s pretty vacant.
In both pictures (his marker and teh newspaper clipping), you see him wearing a bow tie (just free analyzation…)
In his biography he brings down an interesting story how he gave P’sak.

I thought placing pictures on tomb stones was an issue
