I guess, that R’ Yisroel was born 1859 in Devavanya, Hungary, and married Rosa Reisman from Kiralyhelmec.
His father R’ Chaim Zvi Klein was the Rav in Fegyvernek, Hungary, and then settled in Kisvarda/Kleinvardein, where passed in 1913.
Can anybody confirm it?
Reb Yisroel had (has?) a son on Coney Island Rabbi Chaim Avrohom Klien.
Anshie Kutno was a shul in the Bronx, after Rabbi Klien, Rabbi Shlomo Zalmen Katz was the Rav there< Rabbi Katz was an Uncle for the Sumbethaley Rav.
Reb Yisroel was Rav in the Kutno Shul for over 3o years.
Thew above mentioned son, Rabbi Chaim Avrohom had a son-in-law Rabbi Menel Lazar who served in Brooklyn and later in Providence RI.

I just came across this in my family search. I see that it mentions Rabbi Yisroel Klein as a Rav of Fegyvernek, Hungary synagogue. My father was raised and lived in the house attached to the temple on Erzsibet utca as his father was the rabbi there. Does anyone know of him Rabbi Illes Feuerstein. He was taken from the home in 1944 never to return. My father, his 10 siblings, and grandmother (Maria Kalman) survived and returned to the temple waiting for his return. Any information would be a blessing. Am Israel Chai
