R. Yitzchak Zev Mayer zβl completed and published the Maharsha HaAruch that was authored by his father in law, R. Dovid Zvi Peteny Hyβd.
A number of volumes of this sefer can be found at http://www.hebrewbooks.org when searching for ΧΧΧΧ’Χ¨ as the mechaber.
A son of R. Mayer was R. Dovid Hersh Mayer zβl who was a founder of Yeshiva Bais Binyomin of Stamford, CT in 1976. He was yeshivaβs menahel from its beginning until his petira in 2002.
His wife was the famous woman who made a Bris milah on her son (Reb Menashe) in Auschwitz.
I once heard of him or his FIL seeing the Maharsha in a dream thanking him for his work, but donβt believe anything unless heard from a reliable source. He 1st wife died youngβish, he remarried. His youngest son (Shlomo?) died very young, not long after after he passed away.
Asher, his son Shlomo is BβH alive, and he is the secretary of Kolel Shomrei Hachomes.
Asher, that was his son the rβy in stamford.
His youngest son named menachem yehushia was nifter at age 28 a few days after his father passed away.
Thanx Yoel!
Aside from being a great Talmud Chochom, he had a sense of humor (some of his kids, G-kids have it too). I once heard a story attribute to him, that he couldnβt sleep one night due to a dead (vahntz) bed bug in his mattress β when asked why, it was only 1 dead bugβ¦.? his answer, yes one dead bug, βober sβiz geven eine grohser Lβevayehβ¦! (but he had a huge funeralβ¦ )
Does anyone know his Yichus? was he an Einikel of reb Shlomo Leib Mayer ABD Veretzky

He used to come to Hungary Debrecen in the summer time in late 1960s. He saved both my brother and I by taking us out of Hungary. My father was a sajchet in Debrecen. We were able to escape because of this tzadik. He read the kesubbah at my chasana.
