Another Rav from Toledo was Rav Nechemia Katz, the brother-in-law of Rav Moshe Feinstein.
As Rabbi Fine of Detroit writes in his book “Anshie Shem” (Avilable on http://www.hebrewbooks.org) Rav Nechamia Kats was the SIL of Rav Silverman who passed away at age 62, his daughter was still not married at the time, and the Kehilah comiited to hire for Rav the one who will marry the late Rav’s daughter.

When Rav Silverman passed away, 3 prominent Rabbis (Siver – Cincinati, Aishishkin – Detroit, and Stollman – Detroit) undertook a rotation to be with the Kehila in Toledo untill they get a replacment Rabbi.

I have a relation. I am his great grandson. His daughter Eta is my grandmother.
Yitzy,
Is your grandmother Eta the wife of Reb Nechemia Katz who succeeded his FIL Rabbi Silverman in Toledo?

Rabbi Silverman married Nechama Bregman in Windowy, Lithuania in 1898, in 1906 he was installed as Rabbi in Toledo OH where he stayed till his passing in 1934.
In 1928 he visited Israel and stayed there for a while, he planned on permenantly miving there after retirement, but his early death at age of 64 came before he could fulfill his wish.
YD Miller,
Rabbi Silverman married Bluma Kantor in 1894. They were living in Russia before they came to America. I am also a descendent, I’ve done quite a bit of genealogy.
yitzy,
I would be interested in talking to you. You can contact me at bennyk86@gmail.com.
Ben,
If you are a descendant you probably have better sources and more accurate information, but my source for the above information was from Hameilitz July 21 1898, but it might very well be another Yitzchok Moshe Silverman, see link (underlined):

YD Miller — Actually Eta was the wife of Rabbi Hershal Stollman. Eta’s sister Eunice was the wife of Rabbi Nechemia Katz.
Yitzy,
Was Rabbi Hershal Stollman related to Rabbi Yitzchok Stollman of Detroit?
Never mind,
So we now know about another SIL of Rav Silbverman, Rabbi Tzvi (Hershel) Stollman, who was Rav of the Bies Yisroel Shul in Borough Park, Brooklyn NY.
His father Reb Nachum was a brother to Reb Arye Lieb, father of Reb Yitzchok Stollman of Detroit (so they were first cousins).
When was he Niftar and where is he buried?
Rabbi H Stollman died the thirteenth of Av 5747 . He is buried in the town of Kfar Saba in Isreel.
correction Israel
Rabbi Stollman’s wife’s name was Eta Chana Bas Bluma. Rabbi Stollman added Chaya tio her name when she became ill. They were my grandparents. he was very Close with his cousin Rabbi Yitzchol Stollman.
I once met his son and daughter-in-law in Lakewood, they also said that he was very close with his cousin Reb Yitzchak Stollman.
My husband is also R. Silberman’s great-grandson. We visited his kever in Toledo about 1.5 yrs ago. And the little shul on the grounds there that honors both both R. Silberman and R. Katz. He went by R. Silberman, not Silverman – my husband says the name may have been changed to Silverman later by his children.
Translation of Tombstone of Rabbi Yitschok Moshe Silverman:
Yitschak Moshe Ben Menachem Mendel of blessed memory, our father and our teacher
He planted within us righteousness, Torah, humility and a love for mankind. A beloved of Israel was taken from us on the 11th of Iyar 5694
A holy vessel full of Torah learning, brilliant rabbi, righteous, pious. A great light, the light unto his congregation, 25 years in the holy congregation of Toledo. The chain of his lineage shall be eternal, may his memory be like the waters of the earth. The Torah that he taught is still alive within us and across the land.
May his memory be bound in the eternity of God.
Hello. My name is Andrea, mandybuzz2017@yahoo.com
I recently found out that I’m the great-granddaughter of Rabbi Silverman. I was adopted and am still just learning about my birth family’s heritage. Would love to know more.
My great-grandfather Rabbi Isaac Moses Silverman’s original name was Moses Olczik. He arrived in Ellis Island Feb. 6, 1906 on the S.S. Blücher, and by this time his wife Bluma followed a year later, she listed her name as Silberman by then, many Jews with Polish names changed them once in America. They came from a town probably called Reshamoy, possibly in Belarus. Their children were Eunice (who married Rabbi Nechemia Katz), Dinah (Czakow then Roessler), my grandfather Manuel, Sam, Libby (who became Schottenstein), Etty (married Rabbi Hershell Stollman, Fanny (Shapiro), Dora, (Abrams), and Frieda (Goldberg). He was the spiritual leader of multiple synagogues in Toledo for 25 years until his death. He had been planning on moving to Palestine to live with his still-living mother Sarah Oltchick who had moved there. He was trained as a Rabbi in the famous Volozhin Yeshiva, which still stands in Belarus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volozhin_Yeshiva
I have documents, photographs, their immigration records which I’ve sent. If any future cousins are researching this, please email me and I will forward them to you at silvermanphoto@gmail.com
addition: His father was Rabbi Manuel Oltchick, died April 1909.

Correction re Dinah, my grandmother. Her first married name was Roessler, husband Julius, a violinist with the Cleveland Symphony Ordhestra and later played in Los Angeles for the movies.. They had 3 sons, Gerry. Leonard and Eugene Roessler. The 2 youngest are still alive. When Julius died, she remarried Sam Czachow,, so that was her second married name, not shared by the rest of her family.
