Your site is very interesting, thanks.
The familyname of the Stretiner Rebbe was “Langner” and not “Langer”.

Welcome Yossi Finkel
Yossi,
Who are your parents? I am Robin’s sister and our Mother is Phyllis (Murray Raphael) the daughter of Ida Langner Brown.
Hi Yossi,
This is so wonderful. I went to your website. I do not read hebrew (except for prayers) Is there a way to convert into english?
thanks
Robin, translate it by google:

paste the url in the text box and press enter.
thank you so much. What state is everyone living in? What is the relation to the Streitner Rebbe and the Langner family?
One of his daughters is still alive – the last one remaining.
Robin: Yossi Finkel lives in Israel – hence the poor English.
His mother is the daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Gelbman.
Thanks.
I have to ask my mother and my uncle-the name doesn’t sound familiar. I know my grandmother had brothers that did not make it to the States and their families went directly to Israel.
What is your relation? I am more familiar with the names of the 2nd and 3rd generation. My mother and uncle (her brother) would know the older generation.
Hi,
Am doing research on the Lower East Side and Rov Uri Langner’s E. 4th Street Shul. Do any of the family remember it and how Rov Langner felt about it? He moved there in 1922. Please contact me with any information. He is the grandson of the Stretiner; his father was Rov Arumtsche, whose father was Rov Yehuda Tzvi.
Rabbi Gellman (not Gelbman – sorry about the mistake above) lived in Laurence NY. His wife was a Langner.
“One of his daughters is still alive โ the last one remaining”
He has a daughter ca. 99 years old still living in the Bronx. She has 4 children (3 living).
I am the great-grandson of the Stretner Rebbe. I went to visit his kever yesterday. My family & I were at the cemetery for the levaya of Chaya Esther, who was his last surviving daughter. She was 100 years old and had great-great grandchildren.
is there somewhere i could read a bio?
thanks
I was just here today, in advance of his upcoming yohrtzeit. May he be a meilitz yosher for all of Klal Yisroel.
The rebetzin, rivka raizel was mothers fathers sister. Anyone out there from her side of the family or know about her etc. ????
My mother’s kever is not far from the ohel. I was at the Ohel today for the first time. I understand that he left a will that stipulates that one who is need of a shidduch or other assistance will be helped if he visits his kever.
The Ohel is not in great shape. The family whose comments are noted above might wish to fix it up a bit.
I was today at the ohel and saw a nice poster that there is a plan to reprint his sefer ืงื ืฆืคืืจ on Tehilim, which is a wonderful sefer, and the bigest ืืขืื ืืงืืืืื speak very highly about it.
The great zchus of this tzadik will defiantly be ืืืื for those who help to republish it.
I am a great great grandson of the strettiner rebbe of Toronto who is a brother of the rebbe in new York I am involvd with reviving the name of my zeydes and I can share and hear from others any info. @ the rebbes you can contact me by my email yitzchokmoskowitz@gmail.com

Greetings to all,
I am the granddaughter of Rabbi Yitzchok Isaac Langner. My mother (Chaya) Esther was the last surviving child of the 10 children of the Stretiner Rebbe. She passed away in June of 2011 at the age of 100 and is buried at the same site alongside her three sisters, Feiga (Seiden), Toby (Bock) and Ida(Brown). The Rebbitzen is buried alongside the Rebbe in the same Kever. It is gratifying to see the regard and respect with which the Rebbe was and continues to be held. May he continue to be a Mailitz Yosher for all.
I am the great great grandson of R Yitzchak Isaac
I was at the ohel on the first day of selichos. It was in bad shape. Looks like there was a fire in the ohel. I hope the family makes repairs. I like to stop there every time I come to my mother nearby.
i am a great nephew, albeit from the Rebitzin (nee Lowey) from the Tosher dynasty.
Are there any others that are related through the Rebitzin?
I am not a relative but my grandfather Jesse Eisen was a follower of the Stretiner Rebbe and in the 1930s/1940s the Rebbe would visit and come for Shabbat while my grandfather lived in Hoboken, NJ. My mother has some stories about these visits that I have heard for years. But for clarification, is there more than one Stretiner Rebbe from this time period?
regarding josh I would like to hear about the stories that your mother knows about the Strettiner Rebbe.
In the 1940s the rebbe had one surviving brother which was my great-great grandfather the strettiner rebbe from Toronto reb moshe langner.
regarding the ohel from the rebbe it is I that undertakes every year a large tent with refreshments and I can say that about a few hundred people come out every year, it is a question of time till it becomes a mass transit place for yeshuos I see and hear every year numerous stories about people that wear helped in the zechus of this tzaddik.
the ohel keeps on getting fixed we are working on building a new one we will need funds hopefully the grandchildren can help to it is a big zechus.
we are starting with plans for this rears yartziet.
Hi, my family remembers having familial ties with the stretiner family. We know to be cousins with the Langner, Meth, Brandwein, families. In Europe, my 4th great grandfather Itche Meyer was learning under the Stretiner Rebbe and he was his prized student. The Stretiner Rebbe married off Itche Meyer to his wifes sister named Fulya. Fulya’s daughter was Chana and married Moshe Kohn. They had daughter named Aidel married to Elchanon (Henry) Goldentyer. Aidel had 4 daughter named Yetta Hiesiger, Henya Aberbach, Fulya Schimmel, and Sima Breina. (With marked names) For all of their marriages, the mesader kiddushin was Rav Yitzchak Isaac Langner. On one of the marriage certificates Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Langer Rabbi Meth, and Rabbi Roth signed it.
What I am searching for is how exactly my family is related to this family.
Please let me know if any of this rings a bell or if you think you can help me.
Thanks,
Moshe Wasserman
Today is the Yartzeiet, 22 Tamuzz.

Does anyone have a link to his sefer, Kan Tzipor on Tehillim?
I looked in HebrewBooks.org but could not find it.
Thank you.
The Sefer is Kabalistic. A copy is at his Kever for using, not taking. It is sold at his Kever on the Yahrzeit. A copy can be seen in Kosoner Bais Hamedrash and many others in Brooklyn, NY.
I don’t think that the book ken tzipor is online anywhere.
It should be in chasidik bookshops.
They just published a new version (By HERMAN SCHWARTZ).

How can we help out with the restoring of the Holy Kever
Trying to do some research on the Stretiner Niggunim. I heard there was a special one for Nishmas.
I am a great great grandson.
I can be reached at eytanmgoldschein@gmail.com
Thank you!
I am a great grand-daughter of the Rebbe’s devoted Gabbai, Avraham Meth, Z”L. He was known as “Avrumche Gabbai”, and is the other person in the first picture above, on the right side of the Rebbe. This, and another picture of my great grandfather with the Rebbe are printed in the sefer Kan Tzipor.
I believe that my great grandfather was also related to the Rebbe, but I don’t know how. I know that we had distant cousins named Brandwein in the Bais Yisrael neighborhood in Yerushalayim, and that Brandwein is a Stretiner name.
If anyone can help me out, Please let me know!
I can be reached at bnayesayra123@aim.com.
Thank you!
I am the great-granddaughter of the Stretner Rabbi. My mother was his daughter Frances. You will be glad to know that I knew yout great-grandfather.
My name is Meir uri gottesman. The Stretiner Rebbe held me in his lap as a child. I remember looking up at his holy face, my Zeideh. As a reward, I wrote a number of novels reads love over the world, where the Stretinervzrebbevis the hero. For example โThe Lonely Shulโ. Also Stretin I mentioned in other books. BH!
Oh, I hope and pray that branches of the family that have strayed off the path be brought back in. A special bra ha belongs to RabbinYutzchak Hakohn Moskowitz who is doing so,much to bring back Stretin. Also, I am so proud of HeshybBovks son in Las Vegascwhomhss donecwonderful, holy things.
This coming Friday, reeves shabbes, 11 Iyar 5781, is the hill ulna of the first Stretiner zrebb, Yehuda Tzvi story.
But it is not enough to dwell on the past, but work for the future. We must produce a new crop,of tzadikim, not for honors, but to bring down the holyShechina here on earth.
My email address is meirurigottesman@gmail.com. My phone number is 416-636-7688 (Toronto). Love to hear from you!
What connection does he have to the Stretiner Rebbi Reb Eizikel from Toronto?
Oh my — I forgot to look at this website for a long time.
My name is Josh and I wrote a few years back about.
Also — my grandfather taught me a niggun which I have never forgotten but that rings in my head all the time. When I sing it I feel close to my grandfather and all the Jews of Europe. I thought he said he learned it when he was a boy in the town of Kuzova, somewhere along the Austria-Hungary border. If you email me I can send you a sample of the niggun. Maybe it was the Stretiner’s. Maybe not?

I’m researching a book about my family — and that of my late best friend’s — and trying to learn all I can about Streiten, which my grandfather left in May of 1912 at the age of 17. Though he traveled far I have come to see how much of Streiten he carried with him — in particular how it formed his life as a Jew. I am eager to learn all I can about the Streiten Hasidim, in particular the central role the Rebbe and his court played in the lives of Streiten’s Jews in the late 19th and early 20th century. My grandfather surely had a cheder education in Streiten and all suggestions, information, ideas about life in that village as seen through the lens of the Rebbe and his followers would be deeply appreciated.
