Biographical Notes:
Note: Rav Moshe Yosef Aronsohn of Reading, Pennsylvania should not be confused with East Broadway Maggid, New York City, and Chicago who carried the same name. The East Broadway Maggid passed away in 1875 and is presumably buried in Chicago, Illinois.

Could this be Rabbi Yosef Moshe Aaronsohn who was known as the East Broadway Maggid?
The Orthodox Jewish element, consisting entirely of Russian and Polish immigrants or their descendants, combined in 1887 and formed Congregation Shomrei Habrith. Their house of worship was located on North 8th street. A Hebrew School, which was situated on Moss street, is connected with this congregation. Today, Shomrei Habrith has moved to a newer, and better location better to serve the communities needs, with its rabbi, Yosef Lipsker, who also represents the local Chabad Lubavitch movement.
