    He was the father-in-law of the famous Rabbi Moshe Scherer president of the Agudas Yisroel in the US.

    His brother Reb Yisroel Tanchum הי”ד, was the Rav in Shvekshna, and son-in-law of Reb Benzion Zev Krenitz – previous Rav in Shvekshna.

    By the way they were Cohanim. There was another Rav Nechemia Fortman, Rav in Neustadt, father of R’ Moshe from Bnei Brak – I wonder if and how they were related.

    He came (or lived in) from Storobin, and lead a Yeshiva there.
