was this the father of the Bertsher on 16th Avenue? did he start the shul?

Yes.

He died 1964, but his wife Rebbetzin Chaya Hinda (shpira) Rokeach ran the shtibel until her death (aged almost 103) at around 1990.

I don’t have access to upload them. The last post of yours is also good.
If your link starts with “htt p://mail.google.com/mail/?….” this spells trouble.
but the Wikipedia links are perfect.
