There is a Rabbi Pinchas Kantrowitz in Ohr Somayach, he maybe related.

He came from Timkowitz, Poland. In the Apirion of 1928 it announces his arrival to the US.

I believe you are confusing this Rav Kantrowitz who passed away in 1893 with the Chief Rabbi of Newark, NJ.

Rabbi Kantrowitz was the Rabbi of Congregation Beis Israel Bikur Cholim an extremely orthodox shul http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F10C14F63F5A1A738DDDAE0894D0405B8385F0D3.
19 1880 he was involved together with other leaders in making a major movement to immigrate from Russia http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=FB0D17FF385813738DDDA80894D8415B828DF1D3 (last article).

Thanks for the info, I think two of those Times Articles are actulally the same thing, and it is interesting that the Obituary starts with “Saratoga” perhaps that is where he passed away.
He was obviuosly the brother of R’ Yeruchem Tzvi
