   I am an Englishman researching Lake Narocz now in Belarus where your ancestors hail from – I see your family name on a list from Miadziol dated 1923 at a “ShtetLinks” site I have just visited. My research is nearly complete. If anyone has any photographs of Lake Narocz around 1930-1939, I would appreaciate you getting in touch. I have plenty of documentary material – but no pictures.    My great great grandfather was Rabbi Aaron Gordon, directly through father’s father’s father’s father. I am knee deep in family geneology and am wondering if anyone can provide me with more information on Rabbi Gordon (I have also been to gravesite). I was unaware of any of his siblings, but I know he had at least three daughters and at least one son (my grandfather’s father). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

   From the link I provided above (Written in Hebrew) It appears that Rabbi Aaron Gordon had at least 3 sons:

   1) Avrohom Yosef (Abraham Joseph) Gordon
   2) Yaakov Lieb (Jacob) Gordon
   3) Feitel Shlomo (Solomon) Rabinowitz (name change?)

   and 3 Daughters:
   1) Dina Miriam wife of Rabbi Rabinowitz

   Which one of the sons was your GG-Grandfather? our freind Asher once sent me a picture of the gravsite of Avrohom Yosef the son of Rabbi Aaron Gordon and his wife Chaya Ruchel.

   I just noticed in the above mentioned Sefer Even Mier authored by Rabbi Aaron Gordon he mentionsall his children where a find another daughter

   4) Esther Malka wife of Reuven (Son of Naftali Hirtz)

   also the before mentioned daughter Rivka was the wife of Eliyahy Kalmanowitz

    Thank you for all the translation of the information My great grandfather was Feitel Shlomo, who called himself Phillip Rabinowitz.
    I did know that Rivka (Rebecca) was married to Louis Kalmanowitz and I have been in touch with one of their descendants.
    Also, to be perfectly honest, I am Amy Gordon, not Mr. Gordon. I didn’t change my name when I married – I felt very connected to the name Gordon – it seemed important to me. My father, born Albert Rabinowitz, son of Benjamin, son of Phillip, changed his name back to Gordon as a young adult trying to be accepted into a special wartime program that had “Jewish” quotas and felt that Gordon did not sound as Jewish as Rabinowitz.

    Just found a great grandson of Rabbi Gordon (grandson of Louis Kalmanowitz). He apparently has a number of photos of Rabbi Gordon and his wife. If anyone is interested, when I receive them, I can forward them to you if you send me your email address.

    I was by Beth Judah today Aug 3 2016.
    I was trying to find the kever. Was unable to locate it .
    From the Records in the Ofiice he is in the section of the Chofetz chaim’s rebbitzin .
    They were unable to locate it………
    Can someone give better location ?

    There is correspondence between Rabbi Gordon and Rabbi Yechiel Mechel Espstien, the author of the Aruch Hashulchan with respect to a get. This can be found in the responsa of the Aruch Hashulchan chelek even ha’ezer chapters 46 and 47.
