    They are not the same people. Rabbi Chaim Dovid Regensberg of Chicago is Chaim Dovid ben Dov Menachem. Rabbi Regensberg passed away on Nisan 9, 5737 (March 28, 1977) in Jerusalem.

    My mother, Rose Regensberg, is Shoshana bat Israel. Israel (ben Dov Menachem) was a brother of Chaim Dovid.

    The Kever does not match the person in the matzeiva. Rabbi Regensberg from Chicago, as noted was niftar in Yerushalyim and wrote משמרת חיים not דברי מנחם. As Ms. Bolshon notes.
