Now we see some connection of Rav Alperstein and Rav Cohen – both were his teachers.
He’s buried in the Alperstein family plot, which seemed odd at first.

R Alperstein was in RIETS/YU maybe R Cohen as well and Smithline was a YU Graduate? speculating
dr smithline also had connections with the chofetz chaim—he printed a poster from the chofetz chaim in 1931 about taharas hamishpacha–its in our archives
