HELLO Mr HOROWITZ ! my name is ARIE FRANKEL I am living in SIGHET near SAPINTA. I think that I can help you to resolve your problem in the cemetery with the neighbors for further call me :**40-740810250
I know to what above is referring to,
but looks like he נumped in to the wrong address.
He was on the staff of writers for Otzar Yisroel, he had a son named after his father Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Todros (Solomon) Hurwitz who was a proffesor in Columbia University, and co-authored Otzar Midroshim.
Rabbi Horowitz was Rav in the Zichron Efraim Shul founded by Rabbi Drachman (http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=23271&st=&pgnum=192&hilite=)
I wonder how it exactly worked since Rabbi Drachman himself past away only on 1945 (http://kevarim.vohost.us/rabbi-dov-ber-bernard-drachman/)
Re the comment above of YD Miller — this is the father of Shlomo Todros Hurwitz you mention. Rav NNH named his son for his own father, also Shlomo Todros. ST Hurwitz the younger passed away single and without children, in the influenza epidemic of 1918/1919.
Todros is an old name; the rav of Rome in the days of Rabbi Akiva was Rav Todros. Presumably it’s “Theodore” (Greek for “one who loves God”). In our family (descendants of Rav Nosson Nota Hurwitz), the one’s named Todros are called “Teddy”.
Also, this Rav Nosson Nota Hurwitz had a deep love of Eretz Yisrael and was a founder of the city of Hadera together with the father of Rav Zvi Pesach Frank and others.
I notice that you can see the Matzeva of the son to the left of his father’s.
