Does anyone know what his address was?
Rabbi Zalman Levine was, at some point, in the Maritime provinces of Canada. I knew him in Albany. In 1977, when praying in the Shul on New Scotland Ave. known affectionately as the Shteibel, he was the Baal Tokea on Rosh Hashana. Unfortunately, he wasn’t feeling well, so he had me take over in the middle. Many years later, while touring the maritime provinces, we saw an advertisement he had posted in a synagogue up there (I believe we saw it in the St. John’s Jewish Historical Museum in St. John’s, New Brunswick) stating that although he had moved to Albany NY, he’d be happy to come up and perform a Brit if the need arose. He was recognized by all in Albany as a very learned man.
I was told that he had a shoe store by my Rebbe, Rabbi Pichus Aaron Weberman ,obm.
im fairly certain one of the magazines (Ami or Mishpacha) had an article about him a few years back, he was a Talmid of Rav Boruch Ber in Kamenitz and was an Iluy, had a daughter that had no children and that passed away. so no descendents.
