Rabbi Reuvain Rivkin was osaik btarchei tzibior for the Baltimore Community from 1914-1953, serving as Rov of the Tavarica Hanover Street and the Aitz Chaim Anshei Amunah Eden Street Shuls. He was known as the beloved and devoted Dean of the Orthodox Rabbis for his depth and wide range of learning, his wisdom in practical people skills, and for his oratory skills. He was called upon for Devrai Chizuk and Bracha for all the parts of the Jewish Community. Rabbi Rivkin was a friend of the Archbishop of Baltimore Cardinal Gibbons colloborating with him on mutal issues affecting all. Prior to his arrivalmin Blatimore, Rabbi Rivkin served Congregation Sons of Israel Bnei Yisroel shul in Lawrence, Massachusetts from 1906-1914. He was a contributor to the Sefer Ozar Yisroel authoring articles on Mayim Achronim, Milvos, Shuluach Hakan. H As young Rov in Kovno, he was sent throughout Europe and The Unit6ed States to raise funds for the Kovno Yeshiva.. He was known as a msmid and an illuy in the Kovno Yeshiva . He has decendents in the Baltimore-Washington area, in Chicago, in Atlanta , in the Omaha area, in the California area, in Cleveland Heights, in Lakewood and in Eretz Yisroel
as well as in Queens area of NewYork
and in telshe in wickliffe
