I am his great grandson on my mother’s side and his great great grandson on my father’s side. I live in Israel, which HaRav Yechiel Dov Shear z”tl originally aspired to do. I understand he was a great talmid hacham, shochet ubodek and was part of Chassidut Chabad.
He was friendly with the Frierdiker Lubavitch Rebbe and emigrated to America with him.
Heard from his great-granddaughter today at shiva for Sara Nemon (Shear).
