The Rebbe came to the United States in 1899 from Russia and settled on the Lower East Side. In 1910 he moved to Buffalo and headed the Jefferson Street Shule. In addition to his own great genealogy, the Rebbe was the brother-in-law and chavrusa (a study partner) of the renowned Rebbe Mordechai Dov of Hornisteiple.
The Rebbe appears to be the first Admor to be buried in the United States.

Thank you,
How is the monistriszter rebbe related to him? they are both rabinowitz and the monosztritz and his brother R’ Pinchas M’Kantekziva are descendants of R’ Gedaia Ahron M’Linitz
The Buffalo Rebbe is also a descendant of Rebbe Gedalya of Linitz.
I just visited the Kever today. I had trouble finding the correct location using my GPS. Pine Ridge will take you close but can still be confusing. Pine Ridge Road changes names to Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd. The Kever is on the SE corner of Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd and Maryvale Drive. You can view the Kever on Google maps street view.

Rafi:
What was the Sokolifker Rebbe name? What do you know about him?
Rafi,
The Sokolivke Rebbes name was Rabbi Yisroel Arye Hielprin, he is listed on this site.
http://kevarim.vohost.us/rebbe-yisroel-aryeh-leib-halpren/
(Baruch, the ‘ Slovakia’ needs to be replaced there with ‘Sokolivke’)
What are you looking to know about him? if you read Hebrew, the following link gives you a short Biography.
http://www.hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=2714&st=&pgnum=41&hilite=
Rafi, if your family is from Sokolivka then check out on http://yizkor.nypl.org/ (scroll to letter S) there are 2 Yizkor Books on the city, you should be able to find a lot of information there.

Thanks Asher for the link, from what I read over there, none of his children followed him to the US, but it is still unclear whether any of his dscendants survived the Ukranian Pogroms and later the Holocaust.
Does anyone know of descandants alive?
BE IT KNOWN:
Rabbi Rabinowitz from Buffalo was the son of Reb Gedalya Aron who resided in Sokolifka and later in Podolioi where he came to rest.
Reb Gedalya Aron was the son of Reb Yitzchok Yoel who was the son of Reb Gedalya of Linitz.
Rabbi Rabinowitz of Buffalo had two older brothers, Rabbi Yitzchok Yoel of Kantikoziva (the father of Reb Yehoshua Heshel of Manistristche at Montefiore Cemetery) and Rabbi Pinchas of Sokolifka ( whose daughter Margla Rochel married her first cousin Reb Yehoshua Heshel, above, and is resting next to the Manistristche ohel at Montefiore Cemetery).

The Rebbe from Sokolifke was Reb Pichas Rabinowitz the rebbe from Buffalos brother.

Wow!! i found this kever on this site!!! now i can finally share our family’s story!!we heard abt this kever in 2005 & decided to go for my 22 yr old brother that just started shidduchim! we went to buffalo and the next year on that date was his wedding!! then when he saw he didn’t have kids in the first year he was married he remembered his vow to return to the tzaddik to thank him if he merits to get married!! he went back – 9 months later his wife had a beautiful baby!! when my 2 other siblings went into shidduchim- we decided to go!! we went and withing the half a year both were married!! my sister didn’t have kids for 3 years, and again she remembered she x thank him for being a meilitz yosher! so she went again-9 1/2 months later she had a baby boy!! and so our story continues – we go ask for one think and vow to come back and thank him!!

Buffalo, NY
Thank you Avrum for the address!
I Was there 5 years ago to ask for a boy, 1 year later my son’s bris was on the day of the yurtzait, and named after him
does anyone know if you see yeshous during the year as well or only on the yartzeit?
is there a bus going from Monsey area for the yartzeit?
I witnessed a big immediate yeshua not in the Yartzeit, but of course you have a much better chance in the Yartzeit as the tzaddik is there.
So if you can it is defiantly worth every effort to go on the Yartzeit.
There should be a bus from Wilamsburgh organized by Reb Yona Landau.
I would suggest you contact him and ask if he is making a stop in Monsey.
to chaim
do you know if people see yeshuos only by the yarziet
