I once heard that Rebbe Mendel?ah Chodorov was maspid the Rebbe, does anyone know if this is true?
a very nice writing about the Rebbe in America and about his passing, i received the link from Rabbi Y D Miller
http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=24214&pgnum=1
Thank you for the link, very interesting.
Rav Yitzchak Friedman (1924). Born in Sadigura, both of his parents were grandchildren of the Ruzhiner Rebbe. In 1903, he married, and with the passing of his father, he set up his court in Rimanov. He was niftar during a fund-raising expedition in the United States. A close friend and relative collected hespedim for the Rebbe in a sefer called Akeidas Yitzchak.
Page 60 of the link provided above by BBB and YD Miller, among the Sadigerer Chasidim who helped the Rebbe during his illness was R’ Avrohom Shor, father of Harav Gedalyeh Shor z”l.
Can someone confirm how the Rebbe suddenly took ill and passed away?
Asher, I can read in your question that you might be reffering to an alleged poisining of one of his close assistants, I am not sure that this conspiracy has proven anywhere so I wouldnt write more details.
YD, you read me correctly. I didn’t want to say anything prior doing any research on the matter.
Chevra:
There is such a theory however there is strong evidence to say otherwise. Regardless, I have spent many hours discussing the Rebbe with Reb Yitzchok (Adam) Friedman. Reb Yitzchok is the Rebbe’s grandson and an historian. At his request I am asking that there be no further discussion regarding the Rebbe’s untimely passing on this forum.
Your understanding is appreciated,
Baruch
Please provide an example of the strong evidence that says otherwise. That would be the best way to stop the discussion.
We had a Minyan Yesterday at the Rebbes Zion a day after his Yahrtziet, Thanks to Rabbi Baruch Amsel for raising awarness on this topic.
The red cloth on the Kever is simply taken from a Paroches of an Aron Kodesh, the only inscribing is on the wall which is hard to read (the room is dark and lighted at all, just sun-light coming from the small window).
I think it would be proper from the descendants to redo the Ohel and the Matzieve in honor of the Sadigere-Rimanover Rebbe who ended his young life in such a tragic fashion.

HOW WAS THE rEBBE , MENACHEM DOVID CHODOROV MISHPACHA?
Joshua Riber: R’ Menachem Dovid Chodorov Ztz”l was the son of R’ Mottale Chodorov who was the S-I-L of R’ Boruch’l Viznitzer, the son of R’ Mendele Viznitzer. He was the brother of R’ dovid’l M’zobiltov. Obviously your grand father was an einikel od R’ dovid.
Tattale, any stories of yeshuos that are attributed to the Rebbe?
still dont understand how my grandfather, meir leib rieber, married to my grandmother chaya hager rieber was einekel thanks
Yehoshua Riber:
R’ Dovid Hager Of Zabiltov had a big dynasty of Zabiltover rebbes after him. According to your description it’s obvious that your grandmother Chaya was a descendent of the Zabiltover Hagers. Do some research on that sidec of the Hager family.

Joshua –
The first Hager Rebbe of Zabaltov was Reb Dovid of Zabaltov. He was the son of Rebbe Menachem Mendel of Kosov. It is possible that your grandmother descended from this Rebbe. The Chodorov connection could then have been that Rebbe Mordechai of Chodorov ( I am assuming that this is the M Chodorov that you referred to) was a son-in-law to the Imrei Baruch who was married to the great great granddaughter of Rebbe Menachem Mendel of Kosov, the brother of Rebbe Dovid of Zabaltov. If your grandmother was indeed a descendent of Rebbe Dovid of Zabaltov, then a Rebbe such as Rebbe Mordechai would most certainly have appreciated this connection.
I read about the Sadigora Rimonov Rebbe on Chinuch.org and upon learning he was nifter in the US of course came right here to find out more. Thank you again, for this website.
this monday is the yertzeit
Has anyone visited the Kever of the son of the Riziner in Leipzig ,Germany recently?
The story is complicated.he was originally buried in the OLD cemetery ..During the Nazi era building work was done which resulted in over 300 Mazevos being destroyed..the bones were collected together and moved to the New Cemetery of Leipzig..This is where the MAZEVA is today. The Mazeva was put up after WW2 and there is a CHAZAKA that of the 300 people only the Rebbes body was moved whole….the list of the others is with the Community and the place of the Kever Achim is presumed to be correct. .
A son of the sadigura-rimnover is buried in mount lebanon cemetery in iselin nj. His name is yisroel. The matzaiva tells us was not a rebbe
PLEASE TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS
Crazy, interesting article i just came across. Yes it is biased in some way but very informative.

The author also makes this unsupported claim, tho i am quite sure there is a source. Believe it or not.
. “Also from Vienna, he had moved to New York in the wake of the mysterious death of Rabbi Yitzchok Friedman, a brother of Rabbi Avrohom Yaakov II who had visited New York in 1924 in a celebrated “royal” visit, only to die quite suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 38, possibly poisoned by his trusted adjutant Joseph Rapoport. “
