Rav Michaily (Mihaly) was Hungarian, born in Huniad, Hungary in 1892, was a Talmud of the Binyan Dovid – Reb Dovid Mieslish of Uhal.
Married the daughter of Reb Arye Leibish Kahana who was known as the Admo”R of Ophohido and lived in Klausenburg.
In 1927 he came to the US and was installed as Rabbi of Kehal Tiferes Yisroel – Anshie Sefard of Baltimore untill his passing.

Another daughter Chava married to R’ Michael Tzvi Rottenberg son of the Kosoner Rebbe Reb Pinchas Sholom.

His son (Rabbi) Eugene Mihaly was Born in Hungary in 1918, Mihaly first studied at the New Israel Yeshivah in Baltimore and was ordained as an Orthodox rabbi by Yeshiva University in New York. But after serving two Orthodox congregations, he felt drawn toward the Reform movement and was ordained a second time at HUC-JIR in 1949. He received his Ph.D. from the same institution in 1952.

The kever is easy to spot. After making the turn from Philadelphia Rd. onto Hamilton, it will be in the first cemetery on the left side. It is not far from the road, and is the only mausoleum in the cemetery.
R. Mihaly was the 4th of 15 children (my grandmother was the youngest of the 15), and one of 3 to survive WWII.

Rabbi Mihaly’s ohel is in the Tifereth Israel Anshe Sphard section of the Rosedale Cemetery. The entrance to this section is on Hamilton Ave., opposite Montrose and Roseland Aves. The ohel is not in the Shomrei Mishmeres section of the cemetery.
