This was sent to me by one of the chevra:

the last line probably refers to ה’ ניסן but the end is broken (there’s also wording on top of the stone which is hard to read)

    Possibly at the end: ת’ נ’ צ’ ב’ ה’.

Do we have any idea how much it will cost to restore the Matzeivah?

As of today, the entire marker lays on the ground. The pictures posted above are much clearer than what I saw today. However with the power of dry grass (rubbed into the engraving), the date of his passing (engraved all the way on top) became a drop clearer.

I’ll post a link below of the pictures I shot from my phone, maybe someone here can figure it out.

I think it says –

ט”ז סיון looks to be my guess as the date of death and תרנ”ד sounds right, this will give the gregorian calndar dae of June 20 1894, is there a way to look up the NYC death records online for that date to see if we can find out more abouth this Tzadik?

Wouldnt it be great if we find out before his upcoming Yahrtziet next week and schedule a Minyan?

    Lets try….

Yesterday while being at the Rav Hakolel’s tzion, I went over again, and found that on the laying stone, it says A. Gordon. So his last name was not Mayer’s it’s Gordon.

This is very interesting because there was another Rav in NYC with exactly the same name; Reb Aharon B”R Meyer Gordon
