Rabbi Paley zāl was my grandfather and I have plenty of details
According to my uncle, in his later years, when his wife was in a nursing home, Rabbi Paley would eat meals by my grandparents in Boro Park every Thursday night. He told my uncle he learned by the Zhagaver Rav, R’ Isser Zalman, the Chofetz Chaim, R’ Boruch Ber, R’ Yosef Chaim Sonneenfeld and R’ Kook. He said the Chofetz Chaim would sit by the window repeating “he’s coming, he’s coming.” When the Chofetz Chaim was asked who’s coming, he answered, “Moshiach.”
